David Tao's the best
Just got back from David Tao's concert. Nearly didn't make it to the concert 'cos i plain forgot about it! Thankfully i managed to speed from Chinatown to the Indoor Stadium in time to catch the concert. (For once i'm grateful of the fact that Chinese concerts always start 30min late!)
The concert was simply awesome. The set was beautiful - this rainforest theme stage with a helicopter in the background. David Tao had 3 costume changes (i.e. he wore 4 different costumes right?).
What i really liked about the concert was that he had his band & backup singers on stage so we could really see what was happening. There was also a mini orchestra, a pipa player, a di zi (chinese flute) player, and 1 of the backup singers also played the er-hu! It was really fantastic. All the musicians were engaged in the performance and the entire place rocked.
I think the backup singers were really happy 'cos they got to do lots of solo choruses & ad-libbing. It gave me the feeling that David Tao wanted to share his success with his entire crew, which was really cool. I was also touched when David Tao gave thanks to God on stage (I didn't know he was a Christian), and when he shared that the song Hu Die ("Butterfly" from his Black Tangerine album) was written when he was feeling depressed and that song mirrored his relationship with God at that point in time.
Anyway, i'm a David Tao convert. After seeing his live showcase at the Expo earlier this year, i was already bowled over by his vocal prowess. Now, i'm a total fan man.
Going to get his latest bestseller compilation!!
Coke Light no more
Coke Light passed away last night. It was very sudden. My parents just came home from dinner and my dad went to check on the rabbits. He saw Coke just keeping still in his cage in an odd manner when he suddenly fell to his size and shook violently.
My dad quickly took him out of the cage & pet him but Coke kept having the seizure. My dad then placed him on some hay in a basket on the dining table and quickly called me. My mom said that although he was lying on his side in the basket, he jerked so violently that he jumped out of the basket and onto the dining table, all the while on his side. My mom quickly caught hold of him and placed him back into the basket.
I was at Clown's place when it happened. We quickly rushed to my house but it was too late. Coke Light passed away before we got home.
I did a search on the Internet on rabbits and epilepsy... only found 1 forum site where it seems all the people who posted messages all had rabbits that died or are suffering from epilepsy... and it appears that epilepsy is deadly for rabbits. Not sure what are the common causes of epilepsy. :(
Clown & i are very sad 'cos this is the 2nd Coke we lost. On Sunday, when we were playing with Coke, he was still so energetic and hopping all over the place.... and he loved following his favourite Muah Chee when we enclosed them at the side of my house. We took lots of really cute pictures of Cokie. Will post the photos online once i compile them... as a memorial for him.
I miss Cokie.
Is www.styleupcover.com a scam?
I am writing this to share my horrible experience with anyone else who is considering purchasing a cover from www.styleupcover.com.
Recently, i bought the Sonyericsson Z520i handphone in white. Although it looks fantastic, the white cover (both back and front) stains easily and dirt marks are impossible to remove. While surfing the sonyericsson website, i came across this other website - www.styleupcover.com.
This website allows purchasers to either select a pre-designed stylised cover for the SE Z520i, or use our own pictures to design a personalised cover for the phone. The price is rather steep at USD35.10 but i really wanted to put a picture of my rabbits on my hp and so i went ahead with the purchase.
styleupcover.com sent me a confirmation email after i submitted my online purchase and in that email, it was stated that it takes approximate 1-2 weeks for the product to arrive. It also said that i could track the product by using the "TRACE" feature on their website. However, i was unable to find this "TRACE" feature on that website despite searching many times.
I immediately sent an email to support@styleupcover.com asking where exactly do i go to find this "TRACE" feature but the email bounced back to me! Worried, i sent the same mail to sales@limecore.com and info@limecore.com (limecore seems to be the parent company of styleupcover.com). Just like my previous email, no reply was received from limecore.com nor styleupcover.com.
After patiently waiting for 17 days, i sent an email to Sonyericsson via their online enquiry service. Once again, i did not get a reply... so i sent yet another email to support@styleupcover.com to ask if they were a scam.
Finally, today, 19 days after i first made this purchase, i called the Sonyericsson helpline. Mind you, it took me a good 10minutes before i managed to get hold of a live helpdesk agent but guess what was her reply to me? She asked me to give her the case ID i was assigned so that Sonyericsson could "retrieve my email to check".
I was livid!! Does this mean that Sonyericsson doesn't respond to emails sent to them unless the aggrieved party calls up to complain? I also asked the gal on the line whether she knew how styleupcover.com was related to Sonyericsson and she didn't! She sounded as though she never even heard of the website before. I asked her if Sonyericsson takes responsibility for links that are published on their sites and she couldn't give me an answer. When pressed further, she has the gall to tell me that no one had ever purchased anything from styleupcover.com and so she doesn't know what is going on.
What sort of customer service is this? This stupid gal was saying all the wrong things! Not only did she NOT give me confidence in Sonyericsson, she smashed to smitherins the already shredded confidence i had in Sonyericsson. After much pushing, she promised to get the relevant department to investigate and give me an answer by "tomorrow or the day after".
When i got home tonight, i saw a reply from styleupcover.com. I'm not sure if this reply was a result of any action on Sonyericsson's part, or that support@styleupcover.com just happened to send me a reply the same day i kicked up a fuss with Sonyericsson. Unfortunately, i could not make any sense into the reply. This is what it said,
Hello,
I send you the cover 1411.2005, some problem with the produ.

Goodness me! What the heck was it trying to say? (To think that the Singapore government is worried about our standard of English!) Has the merchandise been sent? Or is it still in the process of manufacturing 'cos there was some problems with it?
I find this level of service appallingly unacceptable. I'm posting this online in hope that google and other search engines will pick this up should anyone do a search for the credibility of www.styleupcover.com. The credibility level is ZILCH! Even Sonyericsson has proven to be a huge disappointment!
I have written AGAIN to Sonyericsson to assure them that if i do not receive my merchandise by the end of this week, i will be disputing the USD35.10 that was charged to my credit card, as well as lodge a report with the police & CASE.
So stay tuned for the outcome....
